Redstone Model Railroad Club

For fifty-two years the Redstone Model Railroad Club has been an active center for model railroading activity in the Huntsville Alabama area.

The Redstone Model Railroad Club is rebuilding!

Starting with a new club layout!

The club's new HO scale Alabama Tennessee & Northern Railroad will cover an area 48' by  20'. Through the years the club has enjoyed accomplishment and dealt with devastation. It has hosted four Southeastern Region (NMRA) conventions and was instrumental in starting Division activity within that region. As we begin construction on our fourth layout we look toward to the club's fiftieth birthday, in 2008.

History

For more than fifty years the Redstone Model Railroad Club has moved location three times, accomplished many milestones, survived a devastating tornado, and hosted four Southeastern Region (of the NMRA) conventions. You are invited to visit the History page to learn more about the heritage of the Redstone Model Railroad Club.

The Redstone Rails has suspended publication

An objective of the Redstone Model Railroad Club that has never changed is to promote our hobby and to share our resources with others. To this end, The Redstone Rails, was a club newsletter until April, 2004., Plans to resume publication in January, 2009 did not materialize. The demands of constructiong the new layout has required the club's limited human resources to focus on this demanding construction project. Hopefully, this publication will return some time in the future. In the meantime, take a look at some of our previous issues on our Newsletter page.

The On-Line Clinics

Ray Long has completed our first On-line Clinic, Making a Realistic Logging Car from an Athearn 40 Foot Flatcar. Ray has done an excellent job on this clinic and it is now available for download by clicking on the signal to the left. Adobe Acrobat Reader will be needed to open this documents.
