The summer of 2004 brought change to the Redstone Model Railroad Club. The cyclic storms of change ushered in the calls for a new layout, driven by new concepts, and new technologies. For all model railroad clubs that have been around a while, these calls for change are not unfamiliar. Model railroading is a continually evolving hobby - new technologies and a yearning to improve the dynamic fidelity to the real thing are the engines that drive the storms of change. These are storms because not all members of a club are on the same page and the product can be great stress. With voices calling for a new layout and fatigue from producing a monthly newsletter for over three years, a few members of the newsletter staff simply ran out of gas. Model railroading should be fun and the collective manhour effort required to produce a quality newsletter each month was rapidly turning that fun into burden and dread. So, after a very long recuperation, we, the newsletter staff, had hoped to revive this publication. But with access difficulties brought on by increased security measures, a dwindling membership focused efforts on construction of our new layout. With the task of constructing the new layout, member support is not sufficient to continue our newsletter. My thanks to Jerry Moyers and Wally Tabor for their regular submissions for over three years and to Pat Moyers, for applying her editing skills to make our product a consistent good read, and to Ed and Clo Gardner for doing the final proofing. Because of the contributions of these members, I believe that we published a newsletter that was second to none. And finally, thanks to everyone who took the time to read the Redstone Rails. Sincerely,
